I worked in places which always had something to do with clothing. In the beginning, I worked in a market – textile department. Afterwards, there was a salon of a Polish brand clothes chain, where I worked as a salesperson. The clothes were designed for women above their thirties. I also dealt with preparation of the shop’s windows and exposition of the merchandise. The prices were rather high. The shop had its regular customers. The materials were of good quality but the colour range was narrowed to the basic colours, like shades of: white, beige, blue, brown, grey, and black. The offer also consisted of the items additional to clothes, like shoes, handbags, jewelry. Next, I worked in an advertising agency, where I was preparing letters to be later pasted on the shops’ windows.
As a designer I worked in two clothing factories. The first one was a knitting factory. My job was connected with knitwear in general. I completed the tasks I was charged with without delay. I mixed shades of grey with black, adding some melange. I divided fields, in order to expose the figure, slenderize it, emphasise waist, bosom, to highlight advanatages of cloths, textures and their structures. I appropriately selected colours, taking opportunities which the factory provided. The most frequently used material was acryl and linen yarns. When it comes to cloth, boiled wool and material similar to polar, although colourfully graded, were used. First, I prepared the designs and later I arranged different layers – marking where something begins and where it ends. Clothes designed by me were related to large sizes. Every workshop placed emphasis on simplicity of realisation, every copy was to be made in a relatively short time and it was supposed to be economic, meaning cheap.
I proved to be successful while working in these places.
And my last job was in a bank.
