I think that human body is inspiring, it is an inspiration in itself. It enforces some layers, proportions, and the field where one can implement some intentional plan, some purpose.
In designing, the rhythm of repeating of e.g. weaves, layouts of threads is inspiring for me – it was lines inside me. I think of it like piling up of some sort, like some peculiar singularity which multiplied creates something individual.
I am especially interested in author’s solutions, something that flows out from the inside. I don’t negate inspiration and impulses from the outside, it’s just that I want the idea to break through my thought, become saturated with it, and express me.
I think there’s no shortage of inspiration in the world surrounding us. It can be a piece of cloth – its texture, the way it reacts to light, bending, water or moisture. A human face can also be an inspiration. Microscopic pictures of living organisms. Their mutual coloration patterns, shapes, divisions, groups, rhythm, unity in multiplicity and multiplicity in unity.
The rhythm of stitches, weaves in something that repeats itself. The rhythm of the cloth – repetition of patterns. Colour, sound, a good song, an interesting conversation. Complexion of skin (white, yellow, swarthy, black) in the impact with the colour of clothing, well cut clothes. Pavement – the way in which squares are divided by lines – cracks in flagstones, which now form separate areas, though they are still incorporated into one, same figure.
The noise of pigeons’ wings, combing through the space of the air, their flight. Their colouring, distribution of colours in greyness. Singing, chirping of birds. Colouring of animals – perfect selection of colours, textures.
The endless mix of the nature’s solutions. Selection of colours she bestows. Placement of light. Silence before and after a storm. Changes of weather. Fog, cloudiness, layout of clouds, the seasons. Harmony of sounds. Tranquility flowing from nature. Harmony of light’s aura with the nature. Arrangement of an apple tree’s branches, trees blossoming in spring. Condensation of dew.
It all carries a charge, potential, energy, some core I try to shift through my thought, an idea to express, manifest in the shape of a project.
